Millis - Jessie Reed

Mrs. Jessie Millis, 76, of Indianapolis died Tuesday after a long illness. Mrs. Millis was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Robert J. Millis of Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Millis, a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Wabash College. Her father-in-law, William Alfred Millis, was a noted educator here and served as president of Hanover College at Madison from 1907-28. The deceased was a contributor to many charities including those under the sponsorship of Riley Hospital, and also actively supported her church, the Second Presbyterian of Indianapolis. In addition to her sister-in-law, she is survived by a brother, Mark Reed of Indianapolis, and a nephew, Dr. Samuel C. Millis, Montgomery County coroner. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Crown Hill Mausoleum chapel. Friends may call at the Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary. - jlr
