Milliken - Elizabeth Gapen

Mrs. Elizabeth Milliken, who died at Thorntown on June 28, was 76 years old at the time of her death and enjoyed the distinction of having lived longer in Thorntown than any other living resident. She was born in Crawfordsville, January 28, 1821, her parents being Zachariah and Sarah Gapen. They went from here to Thorntown in 1832.
She was married to Allen Milliken in 1838, by whom she had twelve children. Among those who attended her funeral were Mrs. Hoschwinder, Mrs. Mary Talbert, Miss Rhoda Stover, and Mrs. Oscar Ruffner from this city.
Since early life Mrs. Milliken had been a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a woman who will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends and relatives. -s
