Waveland, July 22 -- James Milford Milligan, who was found dead at Indianapolis Thurs. morning was well known here where he had spent his entire life. Mr. Milligan was in the real estate and insurance business here for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic bodies and of the Presbyterian church. He had been in ill health for many months. The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Milligan. His marriage to Miss Ruby Strong took place aobut 30-0 years ago. Survivors besides the widow are the folowing children: J. Kenneth Milligan, Roland and Richard Milligan, twins, Jr. Milligan and Dale Milligan. A daughter died as a small child. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Indianapolis, July 22 -- James M. MILLIGAN, 50, of Waveland representative of an Indianapolis insurance firm, was found dead in his automobile on the 38th St. Blvd here early Thurs. morning. Dr. Norman booher, deputy Marion Co. coroner, said that a bottle which had contained poison was found nearby and indicated that Montgomery Co. man's death was due to suicide. Mr. M. was in the real estate and insurance business here for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic bodies and of the Presbyterian Church. He had been in ill health for many months. A large number of friends, relatives, and neighbors gathered at the home Saturday morning to pay their last respects to the memory of J.M. Milligan. The Rev. Mr. Smith of Rockville had charge of the services. Mrs. Guy Spruhan played a violin solo before the services and played "In the Garden' and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,' during the services. Pallbearers were Dr. John Beeson and O. K. Galloway of Crawfordsville, Garrie Dillman, Austin Noblitt, Charles M. Moore and Frank Burrin. The many beautiful floral offerings were carried by Mesdames A.C. Deere, L. R. Tharp, Frank Burrin, Fred Rice, Tom Durham, Jake Glascock, Hubert Loudermlll, Harry Machledt, Mike Grimes, Fred McNutt, Lee Foster, Lowell Spencer and Misses Helen Kelso, Clara Mae Oldshue, Pearl Gamble and Mary Kritz. Mr. Milligan is survived by the widow, five sons, Kenneth, Richard, Roland, Milford, and Dale, one sister, Mrs. Charles Taylor, and one brother, Frank Milligan of Houston, Tex. Interment was made in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Out-of-town friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Rosebaum and daughters Lois and Lorene, Mrs. Mary Shirk, Miss Bessie McClain and W. E. The funeral of James Milford Milligan was held at the home on E. Howard St. on Sat. morning. Rev. WF Smith, pastor of the ROckville Presbyterian church was in charge. Mrs. Guy Spruhan, a violin solo before the service and played "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somwhere" during the service. Word has been received here that J. Milford Milligan was found dead in his car on North 38th St., Indianapolis at 8:30 this morning. An acid was found nearby. Mr. Milligan has been in poor health for some time.

The Grand National Meeting of the Horsethief Detectives [Association] will be held at Wabash Oct 7. J.M. Milligan is the delegate from the local company. C.A. Canine will go from Byron and Eph Henry and John A. Doyel from Browns Valley. The county meeting was held at Crawfordsville yesterday. kbz
