Source: Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana May 23, 1924
The death angel has again visited the Bushong home and claimed for its victim Paul Orval Miller. Paul was the son of Sam Miller and Creecy Zachary and leaves to mourn these, his parents and his brother, Virgil and sisters, Flow, Lennie, Della, Goldie, Geneva, Thelma, Dagora and Pauline. Paul was born May 29, 1912 and departed this life May 15, 1924, age 11 years, 11 months and 14 days. Paul was of a cheerful disposition, a very obedient child, enjoyed all sports and wanted to be a leader in whatever he took part. He has been a member of the Christian Church at Crawfordsville for about two years and liked to go to Sunday School. (Following this obituary was a small poem which seemed to go with the obit.) May time and spring time, seems a time of growth and youth. But May time and spring time, sometimes proves a time of death.
Source: Same paper -- The accident by which Paul Miller lost his life last week cast a gloom over the entire community. Coming so soon after the death of Mr. Bushong, it awakened the deepest sympathy. The boy was working in the field with Stanley and Carson Bushong who were fixing a corn planter while Paul was driving a team to a drag. Their attention was attracted by the actions of the team. When they got to him he was under the drag with his neck broken. There was some movement of the body but the physicians who were called were of the opinion that death was instantaneous and painless. The Parke County coroner was called and returned a verdict of accidental death.
