Miller - Minnie Howard

LADOGA – Mrs. Minnie Howard Miller, 87, of Indianapolis, formerly of this community, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday in the Americana Nursing Center, 5600 E. 16th St., at that city. She had been in failing health nine years. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Howard, she was born Oct. 25, 1879, in Putnam County near Roachdale. She married Clay Augustus (Gus) Miller 65 years ago Jan. 22 in Lane, Kan. Mrs. Miller was a member of North Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Surviving are her husband, of 523 W. Bernard St.; a son, Charles H., of the same address; a daughter, Mrs. Victor Bullock of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Barbara Peters, also of Ft. Lauderdale; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Mathias of Burlington, Kan., and Mrs. Blanche Shelton of Roger, Ark.; two brothers, George Howard of Los Angeles and Bruce Howard of Fruita, Colo., and nieces and nephews. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. Thursday at Gephart Funeral Home here, with Rev. Ralph Graham, pastor of her church, officiating and burial in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
