John B. Miller, 75, who farmed in the Elmdale neighborhood until his retirement in 1950, died at Culver Hospital at 10:15 p.m. Monday. He had been a patient there since Saturday. Mr. Miller, who lived at 1205 W. Main St., was born Nov. 14, 1890, north of New Richmond. He was the son of Thomas B. and Martha Kirkpatrick Miller. His marriage to Verna I. Goff took place June 18, 1944. After graduation from New Richmond High School, Mr. Miller attended Purdue University. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church, the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and the New Richmond Masonic Lodge. Survivors are the wife and four sisters, Mrs. Herman Nesbitt and Mrs. Reuben Swank, both of New Richmond, Mrs. Hartman Manley of Bozeman, Mont., and Mrs. Charles Daniel of Ladoga. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home, with Rev. Arthur Schenck of Newtown and Rev. Keith Carlile in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services for John B. Miller were held at Bright Funeral Home Thursday afternoon with Rev. Arthur Schenck and Rev. Keith Carlile in charge. Curtis E. Bright was the organist playing requested selections. Pallbearers, who assisted with the flowers, were Amos Goff of Crawfordsville, John Greenburg and Darrell Allen of Wingate, Thomas and Richard Nesbitt and Douglas Swank of New Richmond, Dudley Daniel of Indianapolis and Russell Morehouse of Brookston. Honorary bearers named and in attendance were John Bowerman, Walter Stump, Stanley Simpson and George Lewis Bayless of Crawfordsville, Don D. Irvin and Avery Merrell of Elmdale, and Clay Stonebraker and Virgil Hayes of Waynetown. Burial was in the family plot in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Miller died Monday night. - kbz
