Mrs. Mary Kritz MILES, 62, wife of State Trooper Norman Miles of the Lafayette State Police Post, died Thursday night in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She had been ill since Monday. Born Aprl 16, 1897, in Waveland where she spent most of her life, Mrs. Miles was the daughter of Herbert S. and Minnie Cuppy Kritz. She married Mr. Miles Oct 20, 1938. She was a member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church and graduate of Waveland HS and Indiana University. She was a teacher in Alamo, Calvia, Ill; Bremen, Waveland and Klondike Schools. Surviving, in addition to the husband are a son, Donn Miles of Lafayette; an aunt, Jessie Cowan of Waveland, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Miles had lived in Lafayette since 1952. Funeral services were held at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home at Waveland on Sunday with burial at Maple Ridge cemetery, Rev. Philip Badger pastor of Waveland Methodist Church officiated.
