Mrs. Lucy MILES, aged 77 died at her home in Montezuma on Thursday of last week. She was the mother of Albert and Andrew Miles and a sister of William and John BIRCH.

Lucinda BURCH MILES, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Bruch was born at Eagle Field Satation near Brazil, Indiana, on August 25, 1856, passed away at her home in Montezuma Thursday afternoon, May 3 at 4 o'clock aged 77 years 8 months 8 days. She spent her early girlhood at Eagle Field Station. At the age of 18, she was united in marriage to Aaron Miles and to this union was born 7 children, 4 dying in infancy. Surviving are two sons: Edward G and Albert J, both of Montezuma; one daughter, Mrs. Laura Cates of Pratt, Kansas. Mrs. Miles was a kind and loving mother, and took interest only in her home and loved ones. On September 14, 1914, Mr. Miles passed away leaving her a widowed mother. Mrs. Miles spent the past 20 years in and around Montezuma and until the past few years had excellent health. She has suffered from two strokes and only 3 weeks ago suffered a relapse of heart trouble and cancer. She was one of a family of 5 children and leaves to mourn her loss two brothers, William J. Burch of Topeka, Ks and John F. Burch of Mecca, two brothers and one sister, having preceded her in death. She also leaves 3 step children, Robert MIles of Attica; Andy Miles of Indianapolis and Mrs. Martha Brothers of Brazil, besides a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock at the home with Rev. Vermillion officiaitng and burial at Union Cemetery. Montezuma Enterprize
