Clifford Mikels, 89, of 806 Liberty St., died Tuesday in Culver Hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He had lived in Montgomery County all his life and had been a farmer and carpenter. He attended the old Shilo School and was a member of the Mt. Zion EUB Church. Born Aug. 21, 1886, in Montgomery County, he was a son of Joel L. and Etta Francis Buchanan Mikels. He was married to Mable Tinder at Rockville on March 6, 1917. Surviving with the widow are three sons, Donald R. of Crawfordsville, George A. of Delphi and C. Raymond of Battle Ground; three daughters, Mrs. Frances M. Darland of Huntington and Mrs. Mary Catherine Truax and Mrs. Jane Gleason of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Eston O. of Crawfordsville and Cloyd Lelon of Bainbridge; a sister, Ida May Fitzwater of Crawfordsville; 26 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Burkhart Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Cato officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
