Michael - Laura Scott

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 22 January 1897

Mrs. John Michael(s) died at her home east of Alamo Friday, Jan. 15, 1897. She suffered from consumption for one year and three months. She was very patient throughout the ordeal. We know she is where there is no suffering and death and can rest in peace ever more. She died at the age of thirty six years, seven months and five days. She leaves a husband, seven children, six sons and one daughter, a mother, three sisters and one brother to mourn her loss. A. P. White conducted the funeral at the residence after which the remains were laid in their final resting place at the Stonebraker Cemetery.

Thanks so much to Mary Anne M from Maine for pegging Laura Michael for us - she was married to John Cornelius Michael who was born 18 October 1847 and passed away 21 October 1899.  Both died of consumption.  They were married 30 November 1879 in Montgomery County.  He was the son of Cornelius N. Michael and Mary Ann Stonebraker -  line goes to Sebastian Stonebraker, Revolutionary Soldier.
