WINGATE, Ind. (CNS) – Mrs. Lula Bell Mitchell, 80, a Wingate resident, died Friday afternoon (Nov. 12, 1971) at Culver Hospital in n Crawfordsville where she had been taken on Thursday night after suffering a stroke. She was born Dec. 16, 1890, near Wallace, the daughter of William and Mariam Durham Rodgers. On Dec. 26, 1911 she was married to Raymond Mitchell of Wingate. He died in 1959. She was a member of the Center Christian Church north of Elmdale. She had lived in the Elmdale community all of her married life until two years ago when she went to Wingate to live. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Fulwider of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Frances Shelley of New Ross and Mrs. Clara Miller of Alamo; six sons, John, Paul, Charles and Clare, all of Wingate, William of Waynetown and Max of near Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Dazey of Wingate and Mrs. Earl Alward of Wallace; three brothers, Harry Rodgers of New Market, Fred Rodgers of Frankfort and Russell Rodgers of Oakwood, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, an infant son, three grandchildren, a great-grandchild, two sisters and two brothers. Services will be held at 10 a.m. EST Monday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. The Rev. Homer Hunsinger of Lebanon will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. – jlr
