Oscar N. Miller, 76, retired founder of the Crawfordsville Paint & Wallpaper Co., died at 7 a.m. Sunday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since last Wednesday. He was a son of Harvey and Ellen Smith Miller and was born Aug. 31, 1891 in Owen County. He was married Dec. 21, 1910 in Greene County to Elizabeth Lynch, who survives. Mr. Miller started the paint and wallpaper firm here in 1930 and headed it until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Cissel, and a granddaughter, Sally Sue, of this city, and a brother, A. A. Miller of Jacksonville, Fla. A son, Ted, preceded Mr. Miller in death. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larimore Wickett the minister and burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Boys Club. – jlr
