WAYNETOWN, Ind. (CNS) – Mrs. Lula Ethel Miller, 80, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 22, 1968) at the Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Born Aug. 15, 1888, in White County, she was the daughter of Amos and Ada Adams Veatch. On Oct. 2, 1907, she married Samuel Miller at Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Miller was a member of the United Methodist Church at Opdike, Ill. for 70 years. She had been residing with her two daughters, Mrs. Irene Williams and Mrs. Mabel Harlan for the past seven years. Other survivors include three sons, Ernest of Terre Haute, Burton of Chicago and Wayne of Plainfield, Ind.; two brothers, John Veatch of Fairfield and Howard Veatch of Mt. Vernon; four sisters, Mrs. Leota Kininson of Fenton, Ill., Mrs. Mabel Mason of Marion, Ill., Mrs. Alma Sanders and Mrs. Alice Cravens, both of Herrin, Ill.; ten grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961 and two sisters. The body is at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday. Services will be at the Myers Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Opdike Cemetery. – jlr

Mrs. Miller was born Aug. 15, 1888 in White County, Illinois, a daughter of Amos and Ada Adams Beech. On Oct. 2, 1907 she married Samuel Miller at Mt. Vernon, Ill. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Opdike, Ill., for nearly 70 years. For the last seven years she had made her home in Waynetown with her two daughters, Mrs. Irene Williams and Mrs. Mabel Harlan. Survivors besides her daughters include three sons, Ernest of Terre Haute, Burton of Chicago, and Wayne of Plainfield; two brothers, John Beech of Fairfield, Ill., and Howard Beech of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Leota Kininson of Benton, Ill., Mrs. Mabel Mason of Marion, Ill., Mrs. Alma Sanders, and Mrs. Alice Craven, both of Herrin, Ill.; 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
