Norman V. MILES, 51, veteran Indiana State Trooper living in Lafayette but formerly of Waveland died in Lafayette's St. Elizabeth Hospital at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday Feb 23, 1960. He had been seriously ill a month. Born in Waveland May 24, 1908, he was a son of Nelson and Goldie Alward Miles. He was married Oct 20, 1937 to Mary Kritz, who preceded him in death last October. Mr. Miles was a 1928 graduate of Waveland HS. He had served as State Police officer for 22 years. Survivors include a son, Donn; mother; four sisters: Mrs. Floyd Hester; Mrs. Lorrain Snyder; Mrs. Melvin Huxhold; Mrs. Dorothy Wright and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were to be held Thursday afternoon at the Machledt & Servies Funeral home with Rev. Wm. Grimes of the Waveland Baptist Church officiating. (typed by kbz)
