NEW MARKET – N. Gertrude Miles of New Market died at 7 p.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She was a retired self-employed tax consultant and bookkeeper and a lifetime Missionary Baptist. Educated in Browns Valley schools, she was a daughter of William H. and Mary Lee Maddox Miles. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Lee Miles of Lowell, and two nieces, Mrs. Mary Esther Steel and Mrs. Hazel Milligan of Crawfordsville. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Powers Funeral Home at New Market with the Rev. Carlyle Scott and the Rev. Jerry Parritt officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
