BROWNS VALLEY – Mrs. Louie M. Miles, 97, of Browns Valley, died today in Golden Manor Health Care Center at Ladoga. She had been in failing health four months. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Mrs. Miles was born in Montgomery County on Jan. 9, 1880, a daughter of Albert M. and Mary E. Miller Smith. She married Reuben H. Miles on Dec. 1, 1899. Surviving are a son, Ernest, of Rt. 1, Roachdale; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home at Waveland with the Rev. Eldon Coons officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
