Miles - Aaron

Aaron Miles tried to give us the shake last Saturday afternoon, but
stuck just outside the pearly gates. It seems that he has been having
domestic troubles of various kinds, and they so preyed upon the senstive
soul of the old gentleman that he determined to wait no longer for the
old man with the scythe - he is 75 years old - but to end his troubles
at once. He went to his barn, climbed up into the hay-mow, tied one end
of a rope to one of the rafters and the other end around his neck and
swung off. But the noose was not tied properly, and let him down after
giving him a good choking. He declared that he would yet finish the job,
but it is generally thought now that he has had enough, and will wait
and take his departure in the regulation way.
