The body of Rev. W.R. Mikels arrived in the city
accompanied by the funeral party at 1:35 this afternoon and the funeral
was conducted from First Methodist Church at 2. Rev. L.C. Buckles of
Lafayette assisted by Rev. Fred Whitlo Hixson of this city officiated.
The burial was in the Masonic Cemetery. The honorary pall bearers were:
Rev. RD Utter, Greencastle; Rev. C.A. Brooks, Laporte; Rev. W. H.
Fertich of this city; Rev. W. C. McKenzie, Indianapolis; Rev. Horace G.
Ogden, Jamestown NY; and Rev. Goerge W. Switzer, Lafayette. Active pall
bearers were; Gilbert Howell; W.A. Moon; Frank Evans; G.W. Peyton; E.E.
Ballard and Tully Crabbs.
