August Metzinger, 97, of Dunnington, Ind., died late Wednesday in Culver Hospital here after a short illness. He was the father of Mrs. Charles Wiatt, 1015 E. Main St. Mr. Metzinger was a life resident of Dunnington where he was born Aug. 22, 1871. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church there. Other survivors are three sons, Norbert of West Lafayette, Wilfred of Chicago and Leonard of Fowler; two daughters, Mrs. Cecilla Wing of Fowler and Mrs. Genevieve Eckman of Lafayette; a brother, George of Otterbein; a sister, Mrs. Ella Chaffee of Oxford; 23 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two daughters. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Dunnington with Rev. Francis Sheck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. - jlr
