Mrs. Ruth Elaine Metsker, 45, of Rt. 4, died at 7:10 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette where she had been a patient for the last week. Mrs. Metsker, the daughter of Anson S. and Jennie Deeter Thomas, was born May 21, 1917, in Montgomery County, south of New Richmond. She was married to William C. Metsker, May 7, 1944, in Lafayette. She attended New Richmond Grade School, a high school in Danville, and was graduated from Central Normal College in Danville. Before her marriage she taught school in Shelby County and for the past nine years has taught business in Coal Creek Central High School. The couple began housekeeping northwest of Crawfordsville were Mr. Metsker is a farmer. Mrs. Metsker was a member of the Liberty Chapel Church. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Laine C. and Alan C., both at home; a sister, Mrs. John Ernstes of Indianapolis, a brother, Warren A. of Colfax, and an aunt, Mrs. Chesley Patton of Rt. 4. Surviving also are her parents of Crawfordsville. Her father has been an active Farm Bureau member for 30 years. Other survivors include two nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bright Funeral Home with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
