WE, the undersigned Jurors, empannelled and sworn on the 17th day of November, in the year 1866, at the township of Coal Creek, in the county of Montgomery and State of Indiana, by U. M. Scott, Coroner of said county, to inquire and true presentment make in what manner and by whom WILLIAM J. MERSHON, whose body was found at the residence of Stow S. Detchon, in said township, on the 17th day of November, 1866, came to his death, after having heard the evidence and examined the body, we do find that the deceased came to his death by one of three pistol shot wounds in the head, and that said pistol shot wounds were inflicted by his own hand, by means of a revolving pistol, and that the probable cause of the act was depression of spirits the remote cause, pecuniary embarrassment, Given under our hands at the time and place of said inquisition above mentioned.
