Cates, Ind. - Services for Mrs. Mary Merryman, 77, who died unexpectedly Saturday (Feb. 13, 1971) at her home, will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Robert Harp will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Monday. She married Ben Merryman May 29, 1912.

CATES -- Mary Merryman, 77, a life resident of Fountain County, was fatally stricken at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at her home on Rt. 2, Kingman. She was a native of Wabash Township, Fountain County, born April 2, 1893 to Milton and Eliza Jane Holder Snoddy. She married Ben E. Merryman on May 29, 1912. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, William Rudolph Merryman of Wallace and Harold Leon Merryman of Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Staggs of Rt. 2, Kingman; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Walter Snoddy of Rt. 1, Covington. A son and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with Rev. Robert Tharp the minister and burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Monday.
