Jessie May Warrick Merrill, 94, formerly of 410 Baxter St, Attica died at 8:50 a.m. Monday April 6, 1992 in Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica where she had been living. Mrs. Merrill worked for the canning factory and as a cook at th ehotel both in Attica. Born in Wingate on June 24, 1897, she attended school in the Veedersburg area. She married Howard D. Merrill August 17, 1917 in Veedersburg. He died Nov 22, 1952. Mrs. Merrill was a former member of the women of the Moose in Attica and she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Mildred - Tiny) Devine and Mrs. Ethel Mae "Pep" Broks, both of Attica, a son, Verl L. Merrill, Cedar Lake; a sister, Mrs. Sidney Patterson of Kansas City, Mo; 27 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Arlie; a daughter, Mrs. Rosamond Mahoney; two sisters, June and Georgana, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation at Maus Funeral Home was Wednesday. Service in Maus Chapel also Wednesday with Donald Glover officiating. Interment at Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
