Waynetown, Ind. (CNS) --Services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Servies Funeral Home for William S. Merrell, 88, of Waynetown. Mr. Merrell died yesterday morning (Aug. 11, 1966) at the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since June 20. He had been ill since January and seriously ill three weeks. The Rev. Myron Hinton, pastor of the Waynetown Baptist Church, will officiate, with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home where friends may call after 2 today. He was born Feb. 10, 1878, in Wayne Township, Montgomery County, a son of Basil T. and Nancy N. Bunnell Merrell. He married Maude Estella Lewis at Waynetown on June 23, 1897. She preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Blanche M. Boling of River Forest, Ill., and Mrs. Rhoda N. Hartzell of Beach Grove, Ind.; twin sons, Judge Morris T. of Evansville and Marx D. of Howe; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Freeman of Crawfordsville. Mr. Merrell was choir director of the Waynetown Baptist Church for many years. He also served the church at trustee and deacon. He was a member of the Wayne Township Farm Bureau and the Newtown-Waynetown Band. He was a graduate of Waynetown High and farmed in Wayne Township - kbz
