Merrell - Margaret Johnson

Waynetown, March 2 - Mrs. Margaret Ann Merrell, 75, died at her home in the Elmdale community near here Thursday afternoon, following a three-day illness. Mrs. Merrell had been in poor health the past 5 years, following a paralytic stroke. Mrs. Merrell was born Jan 27, 1869 in Brazil, the daughter of John and Martha Carney Johnson. She was married to John Merrell, who survives in Montgomery County Sept 16, 1886. She was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. Survivors in addition to the husband, are four sons, Hugo Merrell, Crawfordsville; Avery Merrell, Wingate; Ansel Merrell, Waynetown; Reuben Merrell, Muncie; two sisters, Mrs. William Combs, Waynetown and Mrs. Betty Garrigus, Veedersburg; 14 grandchildren four of whom are in the armed forces; one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the Christian Church here Sunday afternoon at 2 in charge of the Rev. Guy E. Tremaine. Burial in the Masonic cemetery here.
