Waynetown – Carrie Merrell, 87, of Crawfordsville and formerly of Waynetown died at 12:50 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital. Mrs. Merrell was a member of Liberty Chapel Church, Ladies Aid of the church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the WWI Barracks. She had been a resident of Waynetown most of her life until moving to Crawfordsville six years ago. She had attended Waynetown High School. Born Nov 11, 1893, in Hamilton County, she was a daughter of George and Mary Harris Bolen. In 1922, she married Ansel Merrell, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son-in-law, Clyde Hendricks of South Bend; two grand-daughters, Mrs. Harold (Judy) Smith of Columbus and Mrs. William (Debbie) Ritter of Crawfordsville; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Hendricks, two brothers and a sister. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Wayne town with the Rev. James Ra-- officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. -- smc
