Merrell - Alfred Daniel

Indianapolis, April 18 - Alfred D. Merrell, 71, former resident of Crawfordsville died at the Methodist Hospital here at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon. He had suffered a severe stroke about 3 days ago. Mr. Merrell was born June 13, 1874. Surviving are the wife, Mary Ellen Merrell; four children; Raymond Merrell of Upper Darby, PA; Mrs. Joseph Conner of Fowler; Mrs. Harry Conner of Phoenix, AZ; and Mrs. Raymond Shumate of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Rider Freeman of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Stella Boldt of Waynetown; two brothers, William S. Merrell of Waynetown and Clarence S. Merrell of Indianapolis and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the Waynetown Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. John Cassidy in charge. There will be a short service at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at the Kirby Mortuary at Indianapolis with Rev. George A. Frantz in charge.
