Meredith - Sophia

Mrs. Sophia Meredith, of Shawnee, died after a brief illness Sept. 23, aged nearly 68 years. She had been a widow many years and leaves a son and many friends to mourn her loss. The highest tribute that can be paid her memory is that she was a good Christian woman. She was a leader in church, Sunday school, and mission work in the Shawnee M. E. Church, and was a charter member of their foreign missionary society organized twenty five years ago. The funeral was held on Sunday in the form of a memorial service, Rev. G. W. Switzer, of Lafayette, being present. -s
