Alamo, March 16 -- Charles H. Melvin, 73, died at his home here Tuesday night at 10:30 o'clock following an illness of one month. Death was due to pneumonia. Mr. Melvin was born in Ohio May 18, 1858 the son of Isaac and Electa Melvin. He moved from Ohio to Misosuri coming to Indiana 19 years ago and residing here since that time. He was married Dec 30, 1883 to Richlee Dike. Mr. Melvin was a member of the Christian Church and of the Modern Woodman Lodge. The survivors include the widow, Mrs. Richlee Melvin; four sons, Ernest, Glen, Clyde and Howard, all of Waynetown, daughter Mrs. Paul Miller of Hillsboro, brother who resides in Spokane, Wash. and a sister who lives in Hutchens, Kansas. 15 grandchildren also survive. Two children preceded their father in death. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Alamo Christian Church. Burial will be in the Alamo cemetery. kbz
