Lebanon---Mabel Morris Meharry, 63, a native of Montgomery county, died at her home at the north edge of Lebanon Thursday night at 6 o'clock. She had been ill since Aug. 20. Mrs. Meharry was born in New Richmond on Aug. 20, 1888, the daughter of John N. and Luella Graves Morris. She married Vinton S. Meharry, who survives, on Dec. 27, 1921. She had been living in Lebanon for five years. Previously she had lived in Fountain county and after her husband's retirement from the farm, they moved to Lebanon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Lebanon, the O. E. S. at Hillsboro, the Shawnee Research club at Jackson township of Tippecanoe county, the Thursday Afternoon Sewing club and the Friday Afternoon Literary club, both of Lebanon. The husband and two sisters are the only survivors. The sisters are Mrs. Alfred A. Henderson of New Richmond, and Mrs. Russell N. Smith of Preston, Oriente, Cuba. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Russell and Hitch funeral home in Lebanon. Rev. Arthur Korteling will be in charge. Following the services the body will be cremated and at a later date the ashes will be buried at the Meharry cemetery near Wingate.
