Hugh Meharry, 76 of Rt. 1, New Richmond, died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday in Williamsburg Healthcare, Crawfordsville. Mr. Meharry was a retired farmer and former school bus driver. He farmed in Jackson Township Tippecanoe County until retiring in 1980. He also drove a schoolbus for the old Jackson Twp schools 16 years. Born May 30, 1909 in Jackson Township he was a 1929 graduate of Jackson Twp HS. His married Jan 11, 1934 in Romney to Helen Whitehead, who survives. Mr. Meharry was a member of the Jackson Heights United Methodist Church, a golden age member of Eagles Lodge Crawfordsville and had been a member of the former Knights of Pythias Lodge, Wingate. Surviving with the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Patricia) McNeil and Mrs. Ada Dean both of Lafayette and Mrs. Ronald (Margaret) Horn of Crawfordsville; a brother, Clare of Rt 1, New Richmond and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Probasco of West Point and Mrs. Lois Andrews of New Richmond. - transcribed by kbz
