Waveland - Paul Edward Meadows, 59 of 709 W. Main, Waveland died Sunday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville after an illness of one week. He was chairman of the Waveland Town Board. Mr. Meadows was a member and deacon of Waveland Christian Church, member of Waveland American Legion and director of the Waveland Community Volunteer Fire Department. He farmed and was employed by Mid-States Steel & Wire. He was a veteran of WWII. Born Feb 21, 1918 at Darlington, he was a son of Basil and Blanche Palmer Meadows. He married July 15, 1939 at Crawfordsville Helen Margaret Whitecotton. She survives. Also surviving are six sons: Danny, Darrell and Dallas of Rt 3, Crawfordsville; Larry Dean of Ben Hur Estates and Dennis and David of Waveland; three daughters, Mrs. Donna Pollock of Waveland; Mrs. Diane Jeffrey and Mrs. Debra Freeman of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Palmer of Linden; Horaceo f Veedersburg and Bob of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Bishop and Mrs. Ruth WIlkinson of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Lois Lewellen of Lafayette and Mrs. Jewell Caldwell of Carpentersville; and 20 grandchildren. A brother and 3 sisters are deceased. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Waveland Christian Church with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to service. Friends may call at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home. Burial in Freedom cemetery.
