Edwin P. Melvin, 69, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the Westbrook Nursing Home Tuesday evening. He had been ill about a week. Mr. Melvin was born Oct 17, 1890, in Lawrenceville, Ill, the son of Fred and Liza Melvin. He married Nora Bell Shafer August 17, 1913. A maintenance man at Wabash College for several year, Mr. Melvin retired in August of this year. He had entered the nursing home last week. Survivors include his widow; five sons, Charles, George, Frederick, Kenneth and Max, all of Crawfordsville; 25 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Lester Wright will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday. - kbz
