Frankfort -- The body of Charles MEDLEY 55 a wanderer was found in an unusual barn
on the Henry Malsh farm a mile east of this city yesterday afternoon.
Lightning struck the building and mushroom hunters in the vicinity
hurried to the structure to prevent a fire. Breaking in to the building
through a barred door, Sylvester Frankling stepped upon the body which
evidently had been in the barn a week or more. County Coroner J. B. Wise
had the body hurried to the county infirmary. Letters in the clothing
enabled the coroner to identify the man as Charles Medley. His age was
written in the book as well as letters which gave his address as
Hartford City Ind. Coroner Wise said death probably resulted from
apoplexy. A message to Hartford city officials brought a response that
the man was not known there.
