Miss Opal McQuown, 77, Rt. 3, a saleslady in Crawfordsville for 50 years, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in Ben Hur Nursing Home. A member of the First Baptist Church at Crawfordsville, she was active in Yountsville, Community Church until she became a resident of the nursing home. Born Feb. 26, 1895, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Bert and Mary L. Hall McQuown, Following the death of her parents, she made her home from 1899 to 1937 with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Gould of Crawfordsville. She next resided with two cousins, Dorothy and Clifford Davis of Rt. 3. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Marjorie Wagner of Bloomington, and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Dowden. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. - jlr
