Suicide – A letter received from our Waveland correspondent last night states that James E. McNutt, formerly of Rockville, committed suicide at his home in Tennessee on the 27th ult. B shooting himself with a pistol. Dr. Ball of Waveland had gone down to visit him on business connected with the McNutt estate and was taking an after dinner nap in the room when the unfortunate man resorted to the desperate deed. The Dr. returned home last Tuesday. He thinks McNutt was troubled by the loss of property sustained during the war and feared he should die with consumption. McNutt leaves a wife and six children. He was raised at Rockville where the most of the family are buried. - kbz
