DARLINGTON -- Mrs. Cora Wright McNorton, 87, a resident of the Darlington area all of her life died Sunday in Culver Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday. She was born Aug. 31, 1874, near Darlington and her parents were John W. and Maria Gill Pedrick King. On Nov. 1, 1893, she married J. Franklin McNorton near Darlington. He died June 25, 1939. She attended Hunt School north of Darlington and was a member of the Potato Creek Methodist Church and the Gravely Run Ladies Aid. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Webb Branstetter of Darlington, Mrs. Gladys Opal Kemmer of Rossville and Mrs. James A. Moore of Denver, Colo.; two sons, F. M. McNorton of Portland and E. F. McNorton of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Stella Clark of Roachdale; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Bright Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. A. G. Vermillion officiating. Burial will be in the Darlington Odd Fellows Cemetery.
