William H. McNeeley was born April 10, 1865, and departed this life at the home of his daughter Mrs. Evangeline Jackson, 405 south Washington street, this city, at the hour of 3:10 a.m. September 24, 1936, aged 71 years, 5 months, and 14 days. The deceased was the son of Jeremiah and Marjorie McNeeley and was a life-long resident of Crawfordsville and vicinity, where he was well and favorably known in all respects. Mr. McNeeley was a prominent member of the P.O. S. of A. and of the Order of Eagles, serving in official capacities from time to time. In recent religious endeavors, he was prominent in the First Spiritualist church of Crawfordsville, serving in official capacities as a lecturer in the church. William H. McNeeley was married to Miss Daisy Rakestraw October 17, 1894. To this union were born two children. Mrs. Evangeline Jackson of this city and Walter R. McNeeley of Gary, Ind., and granddaughter, Mary Jane McNeeley, each of whom together with their mother, Mrs. Daisy McNeeley, survive him, as well as a son by a previous marriage, A.E. McNeeley, of Tampa, Fla., a daughter by a previous marriage, Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton, having preceded him in death. In addition to these Mr. McNeeley leaves surviving him many near and distant relatives to mourn his passing, as well as a host of friends and acquaintances who will miss his congenial and amicable nature regretfully. For 45 years he was a member of the P.O.S.of A., which he joined on October 20, 1891, and was also a veteran member of the Order of Eagles with which organization he affiliated May 27, 1914
