Mrs. Rhoda McMurtry 80, passed away Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at her home in Waveland. Death was caused by a hemorrhage. She was born in Parke County on Aug. 25, 1864, the daughter of Thomas and Martha Peyton. She was married to George W. McMurtry. Mrs. McMurtry lived in Terre Haute for about 20 years and previous to that time resided at Judson where she was in business. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sarah Lafollette of Milligan and a number of nieces and nephews. Last rites will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at he the Machledt funeral home in Waveland, with burial in Mt. Moriah cemetery.
