Word has been received of the death of Fred McMURTRY a one time principal of the school here. His sister, Mrs. Luther Perkins taught here at the same time. Mr. McMurtry was 72 and died Monday afternoon at his home in Crawfordsville of coronary occlusion which he suffered 3 hours earlier. The funeral was conducted Thursday from the Proffitt's parlor with Rev. John Servies officiating. -- kbz
