George W. McMULLIN, youngest son of Francis and Matilda Clark McMullin, was born near New Market, December 29, 1877, died January 6, 1926 at the hospital in Indianapolis, age 48 years and 8 days. George was reared and lived his entire life in Parke County, and with the exception of a few years, his permanent home was 4 and a half miles Southwest of Waveland at what is known as the old Clark McMullin homestead. He was married to Grace Mitchell August 22, 1901 and to this union was born four daughters, Bertha, Genevieve, Vernia and Fern Rose, all at home. George had been in failing health the past three years. Let us note that through all his life he was a good neighbor, a kind father and husband, and a well respected man by all who knew him. He was a member of the Byron Christian church of which he was a faithful worker; also of the M. W. of A. He is survived by his wife and four daughters, by two brothers, Jesse McMullin of Marshall and Charles McMullin of Burbank, California by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hicks of North Salem, Mrs. Laura Dale of Ponca City, OK and Mrs. Margaret Sowers of Wallace; with a host of other relatives and friends, two brothers, James H of Crawfordsville and Johnnie of Waveland and two sisters, Mrs. Leota McCall of Waveland and Mrs. Rhoda Allen of Crawfordsville preceded him in death, which also claimed a brother and sister in infancy. Short services at the home Friday 10 a.m. Funeral at Byron Christian Church 10:30. Burial at Old Union Cemetery, north of Waveland.
