" Lydia Lynn was born March 23, 1855, and was married to John McMullen at Whitesville, Jan. 27, 1877, and died Oct. 26, 1896. She was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Lynn. Out of a family of five children one brother only survives, all having died of consumption. She united with the Christian church at an early age and has always lived a consistent Christian life. She leaves to mourn her loss a devoted husband and three children, Elsie aged 17, lva aged 11, and Howard aged four, besides an aged mother, one brother, together with numerous friends. It is sad to see an incomplete life ended, to see a mother die and leave her little children, yet it must be right or God would not so order it. Mrs. McMullen fully realized her condition and often wished that she could live to raise her children, yet she was reconciled, to God's will and her last words were, "If this is death, it is not what I expected." All during her sickness she seemed to dread the dissolution of soul and body, but it came so peaceful and quiet that it called forth the above words. Dear children, take your angel mother's advice, live pure, honest and upright lives and you will meet her in heaven. The funeral occurred on Wednesday at 10 a. m., conducted by Elder Creighton. The choir from the Christian church sang some beautiful hymns. The body was taken to Ladoga and buried by the side of her loved ones gone before. - Kim H
