Joseph C. Makin died at his residence in Crawfordsville, Tuesday evening, from the effects of an apoplectic stroke received two weeks ago. He was born in Butler county Ohio, July 31, 1828, and had been a resident of Montgomery county since 1830. Thanks so much to my bud, Lena for this one :)

Joseph Cox McMakin died fro the effects of apoplectic stroke at his home on South Washington Street on Tuesday evening at 6:20 o'clock, aged 59 years. The deceased was born in Butler County, Ohio July 31, 1828. In 1830, at the age of two years, he removed with his parents to this county, and when grown he engaged extensively in faring in Ripley Township. He was married Jan 26, 1854 to Rebeca Herron, sister of Capt. WP Herron, county Treasurer. Three years since heremoved to this city where he had since resided He leaves a wife but no children. Two brothers and two sisters survive him. The funeral took place on last Thursday from the family residence, Rev F H Hays officiating. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
