Mrs. Charlotte McLoed, widow of the late Oliver McLoed, d. at her home near Browns Valley, Sat Jan 27. Funeral services. were held at the home on Monday morning by Rev. GW Alley. Interment at Maple Ridge. Miss Charlotte Penn was b. in Bourbon Co, Ky April 8, 1821. Apri l8, 1840, she marr. Oliver McLoed, of the same County, and with him removed to Indiana in 1843, to the farm near Browns Valley, where they lived until the death of Mr. Mc April 27, 1904. 9 children were b to them; one died in infancy; a daughter, Mrs. David Boy in 1894; and David Mc Loed in 1895. Mrs. Ellen Graham lives in Indianapolis; Mrs. Emma Davis, Crawfordsville; Oliver, near that place; Leslie and Miss Sophronia, at Browns Valley. There are 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. Mary Russell is the only surviving sister. Mrs. McLoed joined the ME Church shortly after her marr. and has lived a beautiful Christian life for nearly 65 years. - transcribed by kbz
