Rev. UC McKinsey died Tuesday night at 8:45 o'clock at the hospital (Frankfort) of Bright's Disease after a short illness. Urban C. McKinsey was born in Montgomery County near Crawfordsville, Feb 6, 1825, and was 81 years of age. He was a farmer by occupation and has spent practically all of his long and useful life in this county where he was well and favorably known. He was twice married, the first wife being Mrs. Indiana Shoemaker to whom he was united in marriage January 20 , 1845 and whose death occurred May 25, 1894. To this union were born 10 children eight of whom are still living: John R McKinsey of Kewanna, Ind; Mrs. SA Cook of Topeka, Kan; Lincoln V. McKinsey; James A. McKinsey; Mrs. JP Strouse; Mrs .Robert Wallace; Perry F. McKinsey and Mrs. Robert Sims, all of this city or vicinity. His wife also survives. When the Civil War broke out Mr. McKinsey enlisted in Company K 147th Indiana volunteers and served his county during the war, after which he returned and again took up farming which he continued until Jan 1900 when he was married to Mrs. Matilda Dukes of Colfax and retired from active life, taking up his residence at Colfax, where he lived until the time of his last illness. He was a member of the Christian Church and GAR. The remains are at the home of Mrs. Robert Wallace. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 o'clock at the Christian Church, Rev. Mr. Russell officiating assisted by QA Kennedy with interment at Green Lawn - Frankfort Crescent
