LINDEN—Finis McKinney, 80, a resident of the Linden area most of his adult live, died suddenly at 7 a.m. Sunday at his home, 244 S. Fourth St., in Lafayette, where he had lived the last seven years. He had been a patrolman on the campus police force at Purdue University. A son of Daniel and Cassie Shives McKinney, he was born July 24, 1890 at Edmonton, Ky. He was married to Eula Garmon on Oct. 4, 1915 at Glasgow, Ky. Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Cronin of Rt. 8, Crawfordsville, Mrs. Mildred Welsh of Covington, Mrs. Betty Edwards of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Eleanor Hooper of Lafayette and Mrs. Margaret Barker of South Bend; two sons, Paul and Robert R. McKinney of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A daughter, brother and sister are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Helms Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brother Martin will be officiating and burial in Linden Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
