Edward H. McKeown, 63, of 203 N. Grace Ave., died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He had been in failing health three years. Mr. McKeown was a retired employe of Mid-States Steel & Wire Co. and was a former member and director of the firm's 4X Club. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Eagles Lodge. He also was a past worthy president of the Eagles Lodge. Mr. McKeown was graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1919. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Robert J., at home and Mayrant D. and Edward H. McKeown Jr., both of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Patricia Edmonds of Crawfordsville and Miss Elizabeth Joan McKeown at home; two brothers, William B. of Crawfordsville and John M. of Corpus Christi, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Melvin Hutson of Crawfordsville; and a granddaughter, Miss Marilyn Edmonds of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and George. Funeral rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Msgr. Henry F. Ward in charge. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at Hunt & Son Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Friday. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
