Source: Waveland Independent, Waveland Montgomery County, Indiana July 11, 1919
Mrs. Robert Burford and Miss Roberta Burford went to Marshall on Monday afternoon to attend the funeral of Homer McIntire, a nephew of Mrs. Burford. The young man died as the result of injuries received in a collision which took place in an automobile road race at Covington on July 4. Glen Fisher was instantly killed and Owen Swearingen, John Roberts and Homer McIntire injured. They were taken to a Danville, Ill hospital where it was thought McIntire would recover. But on Saturday afternoon his case took a change for the worse and he died at 6 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the dead boy's home in Marshall. Interment at Poplar Grove Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
