Claude D. "Red" McINTIRE is gone. He had been a businessman in Waveland all his active life or over 30 years excepting for a few months when he moved his business to Montezuma. It seems proper he should end his days in Waveland because he belonged to Waveland and Waveland belonged to him. It is truly his hometown, where he was loved and respected by the many who dropped in for a meal or to chat with him over a cup of coffee. Death came almost without warning of a heart attack, Friday evening at his home on West Main Street at about 7. Claude Drake McIntire son of Frank and Martha McIntire was born at Ladoga Dec 5, 1882. He married Mable MOORE of Waveland and in 1907 to which union two children were given Paul of Indianapolis and Mrs. Jeanette Smith of Waveland. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church of which he was a member, Monday afternoon by the Rev. Claude McCallsiter his pastor. Burial at Union Cemetery. -- kbz
