Francis Marion McMullen a former citizen of Waveland, died at the home of his son, Jesse near Marshall on Sunday. Some months ago while living with his dau. in Crawfordsville, he suffered an attacKnights of Pythiasaralysis that left him in a feeble condition. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia. Funeral services at the Christian Church here on Tuesday morning were conducted by Rev. John Northcutt, of Ladoga, assisted by Rev. Milo J. Smith. Interment at Union. Mr. McMullen was born near New Market, Oct 12, 1834. He was one of the fourteen children of James and Martha McMullen. He was married Aug 5,1 858 to Matilda J. Clark. She died in1 885. To them were born 12 children. Those living are: James H. McMullen and Mrs. Rhoda Allen of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Mary Hicks, North Salem; Mrs. Laura Dale of Bartlettsville, Okla; Charles McMullen, Santa Anna Calif; Jese McMullen, Marshall; Mrs. Maggie Sowers, Yeddo; George McMullen, Byron. Besides his children he leaves a brother, Jefferson McMullen, aged 83; 29 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. At an early age he joined the christian Church and has been a faithful member. He was of a very kindly nature and many friends outside his immediate family will regret his death. - typed by kbz
